The SAS Puxi camus Girls Varsity team kicked off the Shanghai Cup in front of a supportive group of fans Friday afternoon against SCIS. The girls were able to capitalize on their athleticism and defense to create turnovers and jump out to a big lead which they maintained for a 45 -15 win. Facing tougher competition on Saturday, the girls’ lost by nine to perennial rival Concordia and by 2 to the Melody Women’s Basketball Club (a local adult club team). The Junior led team is continuing to learn the cognitive aspects of basketball, and as they become more comfortable in the schemes, their athleticism will enable them to be successful.
